Challenge:

Wood windows will inherently require costly maintenance and degrade over time. Wood window manufacturers were seeking a low-maintenance, pre-finished, non-rot solution to wood.

Solution:

Chelsea Building Products developed exterior-grade cellular PVC profiles that replicates milled wood window components and are both strong and durable. The profiles are shipped to the window manufacturer ready to mortise and tenon, glaze and assemble into a finished window that is low-maintenance, UV and moisture resistant. With this, no painting is necessary, but can be if desired.
