OAKMONT, PA (December 8, 2023) – Chelsea Building Products is pleased to announce the promotion of Jim Ayers from Technical Service Engineer to Technical Service Manager effective January 1, 2024.

As a Technical Service Manager, Ayers will oversee the Technical Service Department which is responsible for the fabrication start-up process, new fabricator continuous training and product testing. When Chelsea Building Products onboards a new customer, Ayers and his team work to streamline the start-up process through pre-planning meetings to ensure tooling and equipment needs are met, the plant layout is optimized to have the most window and doors produced in their footprint and make any personnel recommendations.

When asked, Ayers explained, “Different accounts require different things. The idea is every start up will go smoothly. The way you do that is to have everything planned out and every detail thought of and taken care of before the week of the start-up so there’s no surprises.”

Once new customers approach the start-up, a transition into training takes place. Ayers and his department continuously train staff, make observations as to how to become more efficient, and give feedback.

Ayers completed his Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering degree in 2016 from Pennsylvania College of Technology. After graduating from Pennsylvania College of Technology, Ayers held two previous roles as a Manufacturing Engineer prior to joining Chelsea Building Products in 2021.
