Chelsea Building Products Finalized Purchase of 29.98 Acres of Land to Expand its Footprint
Strategically Located Near Pittsburgh, Chelsea Building Products will Open Second Facility in Pennsylvania
OAKMONT, PA (December 18, 2023) – Chelsea Building Products finalized the purchase of a 29.98 acre plot of land in Madison, Pennsylvania, located in Westmoreland County. Formally a Westinghouse Property about 30-minutes east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chelsea Building Products plans to build a 228,000 square foot manufacturing facility in addition to its headquarters in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
The facility — to be known as Chelsea Building Products East — will support the manufacturing operation that will extrude PVC-based window and door profiles. It will also incorporate a blending facility that will supply the PVC compound to Chelsea Building Products East and Chelsea Building Products South in Greenville, Texas.
Peter Dewil, President & CEO of Chelsea Building Products, stated, “Chelsea Building Products is looking forward to commencing with its aggressive expansion plans and building a second facility in Pennsylvania. With the plant being strategically located by major highways and rail access, we’re looking forward to continuously improving efficiency and getting products to customers quickly and easily.”
Chelsea Building Products plans to break ground on the new development in 2025 and is expected to employ 100-150 workers within five years of opening its doors.
